The
Choir
In
the Anglican choral tradition, the choir assumes a major role
as a leader in worship. The singing of Eucharistic settings,
anthems, canticles, and psalms is done on behalf of the congregation. As such, the choir performs an almost sacramental role, offering
their ability to perform these settings in more complex and refined
ways than a congregation may be capable of.
Our
adult choir is built on a strong tradition of faith. It offers
praises to God through leadership in the
music and liturgy at St. Mark's. The Choir is an ensemble
comprised of volunteer individuals from a range of musical backgrounds.
As an affiliate member of the Royal School of Church
Music in America, the group attempts to maintain and to further
a high standard of musical performance.
The
adult choir sings each Sunday at the 10:55 Service.
Weekly rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at
7:00 p.m. Choir warm-ups begin on Sunday mornings
at 10:25 a.m.
