Worship
is the central focus of our life at St. Mark's.
Our
worship seeks to be both traditional and contemporary, blending the
resources of a glorious past with the vitality
of current offerings.
Our
worship is participatory, with multiple roles for lay people.
Our
worship is faithful to our heritage of excellence in music and
a commitment to pertinent preaching of the Word of God.
Our
worship is diverse, seeking to engage worshippers of different
ages and life status, in prayer and praise that lifts them into
the presence of God and invites God into their lives.
Our
worship seeks to be: holy, engaging, inclusive, hopeful, and joyful
- claiming the promises of God with confident trust.
Sacraments
Our
God is not remote and inaccessible. God is in solidarity with
us and acts in our lives for our health, welfare, and salvation.
We ritualize this involvement of God with us in a tradition of
outward and visible signs that show the inward and spiritual grace
with which God blesses us. These signs are Sacraments
, ritual acts which express the mystical connection between
God and God's people.
