Sunday
Morning (10:00 to 10:45)
Backyard Kids (Preschool: 3 & 4 year-olds)
The Backyard Kids class explores Bible stories appropriate to each liturgical season, using "Young Children and Worship" by Jerome Berryman and Sonja Stewart. The program utilizes multi-sensory elements to tell the stories of God and enables children to relate to sacred religious language to express their wonderings and relationship to God in their lives. The children are given a choice of several activities, and may include using story materials, arts, crafts, building materials or role playing.
Road Trip Kids (Grades K - 5th)
The Road Trip Kids program is based on the Workshop Rotation Model for Sunday school. Children explore major Bible stories in three or four week sessions. Each week children travel to a different activity destination based on the chosen Bible story. Each workshop is designed to teach various aspects of the same Bible story. Workshops include: Arts & crafts; games; role-playing; drama; puppet theater; cooking; science experiments and videos.
Middle School (Grades 6th - 8th )
The middle school students use the Living the Good News lectionary-based curriculum. This allows middle school students to follow the Sunday readings from worship and explore them more deeply. The program includes games, ice breakers, discussion questions, prayer and more. It is designed to help teens find meaning in scripture for their lives, as well as their lives with their family, friends, and the community. Special outreach and mission projects are planned and executed by the class.
High School (Grades 9th - 12th)
The high school class uses the Episcopal Curriculum for Youth to explore specific issues they face as they begin their journey towards adulthood. Subjects such as "success and failure" and "what am I called to be?" are examined and discussed. This curriculum links scripture to themes which aid these students in the analysis of issues within their lives, community and the world.
